The inclusion of rehab services is a vast and widely reported unmet need of patients recovering from cancer. The value of these services for the patient with cancer needs to be recognized and more frequently utilized. Rehab professionals should be part of the patient’s care team from the beginning of diagnosis to maintain, improve, or prevent loss of function and return that patient to their maximum level of function. This course addresses the unmet need of rehab in cancer rehabilitation and discusses specific interventions for different types of cancer. This course details interventions that will improve your patient’s functional abilities, leading to a greater quality of life.

Amy Elder, PT, DPT

Dr. Amy Elder received her BS in Kinesiology from James Madison University and her DPT degree from Arcadia University. She specialized in outpatient orthopedics, became very interested in spinal mechanics, and became McKenzie Certified. Dr. Elder is a stroke survivor who experienced a massive cerebellar stroke in 2011. From 2014 to 2021, she worked as a Clinical Documentation Specialist for Phoenix Rehabilitation. Dr. Elder is currently a freelance health content writer and educator.
