The 2016 census reported that roughly 53 million people in the United States speak Spanish, and of those, roughly 16.2 million individuals report limited English proficiency.These patients, those with limited-English proficiency, are among the highest risk for medical errors due to an inability to communicate past medical history and current problems to providers.
